Our invention relates to a pharmaceutical preparation with strong antihaemorrhagic power. It promotes platelet activation, granular content secretion, aggregation and thrombus formation able to stop bleeding.
Preclinical tests have been carried out on an animal model (Rat Wistar). When compared to the control, we showed that our pharmaceutical preparation applied directly to wounds reduces bleeding time by 50% and the volume of blood lost by 45%. It is also more effective than tranexamic acid, a marketed anti-fibrinolytic agent, endowed with a powerful anti-hemorrhagic effect and considered the standard treatment for stopping severe bleeding.
Our invention present several advantages. It’s a treatment of hemorrhages in the case of accident, surgery, dental extraction, trauma… It can be used by doctors, dentist, veterinaries or simple citizen as first act of aid before the arrival of civil protection and can help to save lives. It has also financial benefits because it’s inexpensive and can reduce the need for transfusion.
